On May 5th, Rachel Madow posted an opinion piece
on how racist the Trump Administration is. She points to Executive
Orders (EOs) “Stopping” the rule requiring contractors not to participate in
separate-but-equal or Apartheid business practices. She claims that
in this order, President Trump is trying to bring back separate water fountains,
separate dining, theater, and other facilities.
I suppose you could look at it like that. Or you
can understand how unnecessary that rule is:
Ø Title II of the Civil Rights Act (42 USC sec
2000a) bars discrimination on the basis of race.
Ø Title VI (42 U.S.C. § 2000d) Bars funding of
race-based programs in institutions.
Ø The 14th Amendment. Requires
Equal Protection under US Law.
Having said this, the Democrats in several states, including
California, have worked to force colleges to have race-based housing and
recreational facilities. This is promoted as “Safe Spaces,” but it
is really just re-establishing Racial Apartheid. California voted to
alter its constitution to allow it.
Ms. Madow, in her video (Louisiana
decision), talks about how the SCOTUS Decision will eliminate Black people
from Congress.
This is a lie.
The very first Congressional Member of African Descent was
Hiram R. Revels. He was sworn in to the US Senate on February 25th,
1870. Born to Freed Parents in North Carolina, he traveled north to
get educated. Educating African Americans was illegal in North Carolina at the
time. Becoming a Minister, he served in the Senate for one year,
then returned to Mississippi to help the reformation there.
Currently, several Black Americans serve in Congress,
representing primarily white districts. They are all
Republicans. The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has 62 members,
all of them Democrats. Most from Minority Majority districts (Districts
primarily of Minority raced voters)
It sounds like the only people who benefit from the previous
interpretation of the Voting Rights Act Section II are
democrats. Forcing a district group to include as many People of
color as possible guarantees a win for an African American representative. Of
course, if you are Caucasian in those districts, it is Rachel Maddow's idea
that your vote is not relevant, maybe even suppressed.
Currently, there are 4 Republican African Americans in
Congress. All of them are from districts where they are the
minority.

JAMES, John, MI, House 10 – District Make up: 14.00%
OWENS, Burgess, UT, House 4 – District Make up: 1.60%
SCOTT, Tim SC, Senate – District Make up: 25.00%
Burgess Owens’ community is 1.6% African American, 70% Caucasian, and yet he represents those racists in Utah?
Yes, drawing a district for the purpose of electing an
African American is racist. But based on the results, it is not
necessary. I question the value of the 62 Members of the
CBC. They come from districts that are literally rigged to force a
person of African Heritage to be elected. Not based on the content
of their character, but the Color of their skin.
But Rachel Madow is not only OK with that, but angry
that it may stop.
